Тогава: Уравнението придобива вида: Да умножим двете страни по 2, за да се освободим от знаменателя: В някои случаи формулите на Виет ни помагатда решим квадратно уравнение наум, ако сме налучкали един от корените му. Задача 4 Решете наум квадратното уравнение 2x​2​ + 5x - 7 = 0 Решение: x = 1 е корен на квадратното уравнение, защото като заместим x с 1 получаваме: 2 + 5 - 7 = 0. ; x​1​ = 1. Като заместим получаваме, че x​2​ = -7/2 .
